Technology is a passion for me - my husband says it's because I like new "stuff," and of course, when it comes to technology, there's new stuff all the time. But it's more than that, really. It's that in this world, where there is more to do and less time to do it in, technology is what helps us get it done. And, as a mother of three children five and under, getting it done is what my life is all about.
As an educator, technology is so important to what I do. Primarily because the students that I teach are uber-connected. They have iPhones, iPods, laptops, facebook and Twitter accounts. They text, call, and IM. Like me. And, it's not easy to keep their attention. Technology is the portal through which we can get and hold our students' attention.
So, tomorrow, I fly out to the International Society for Technology in Education Conference in Denver Colorado. I'll be blogging for the four days I'm out there to let other technology-minded educators know what I've seem, and to remind myself so that I can do some research when I return.
Cheers, and let me know if you'll be there, too!
